We wholeheartedly congratulate our colleague and deputy institute director Daniel Hepperle on successfully completing his doctorate with the top grade summa cum laude!
The doctorate was carried out at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the University of Hohenheim and supervised by Prof. Dr. Matthias Wölfel (HKA) and Prof. Dr. Jens Vogelgesang (University of Hohenheim).
In his dissertation entitled "Exploring the Potential of Immersive Virtual Reality for Social Science Research", Daniel Hepperle investigated how immersive virtual reality (VR) can be used as a research environment for the social sciences - a highly relevant topic at the intersection between technology and society.
Daniel Hepperle received a doctoral scholarship from the Heinrich Hertz Foundation during his doctoral studies and within this context shared an insight into his dissertation in an interview:
Today, the successful graduation was celebrated at the Institute for Intelligent Interaction and Immersive Experience (IIIX) - as is tradition, with a DYI doctoral hat.
We are very proud of the outstanding achievement of our colleague Daniel Hepperle and are delighted to be working with such an engaged and imaginative person.
Congratulations from the entire IIIX team, dear Daniel Hepperle!
