The Referat für Technik- und Wissenschaftsethik (Center for the Enhancement of Ethics in Science and Engineering, rtwe) is responsible for all universities of applied sciences of the federal state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and is assigned to the President of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences.
Besides offering courses for students, the rtwe is responsible for organizing and conducting ethics seminars for teaching staff. In addition, we are also in charge, together with other institutions, of projects of sustainable development under the Rio Agenda 21.
We advise the Senate Representatives for ethics and sustainable development at universities of applied sciences, and evaluate applications for projects from the ethics funding program supervised by rtwe.
We further prepare research results for didactic purposes in order to support teaching activities in all relevant subject areas.
